We spend a fair bit of our day looking at the traffic cameras in Cornwall to provide updates on our live blog and social media.

Most traffic cameras have views like this on the A38 at Marsh Mills:

Or this on the A30 at Carminow Cross:

But Traffic Camera #49079 on the A30 at Temple is different.

It's not great at the best of times. Installed at an odd angle with an "unconventional" view of the road, it's rarely much use when it comes to seeing how the traffic is flowing and certainly doesn't provide an image you'd ever want to share.

It's usually a bit of bush right in front of the lens, a lot of greenery and loads of sky - with the odd hint of a vehicle, on a good day.

But this morning it's really excelled itself with this grey delight:

At first we thought there may have been a fault but the ever-present bush shows it was definitely working to some extent.

So we checked another camera nearby, just further down the dual carriageway, and sure enough it appeared there was a bit of fog.

Here's the latest picture from it this morning - which isn't much worse than the view on a good day.

So is this the worst traffic camera in the world?

Is there a worse view you've seen on any webcams around Cornwall?

Or maybe there's some stunning views online we should be looking at?

In the meantime, stay safe out there on the roads and if your view out the windscreen is anything like the picture on #49079 this morning then just slow down and be patient - fog lights on. (And then off again when it's clear!)
