The victim was travelling from Penzance when she was inappropriately touched by a fellow passenger.

"The victim was left shocked and deeply upset by this attack," said investigating officer, Detective Constable Dave Bailey.

"Incidents like this are very rare but this was clearly a very distressing experience for the victim.

"We'll do everything in our power to catch the person responsible.

"Enquiries are ongoing."

The incident happened as the woman walked towards the toilet in the middle carriage of the train.

"As she passed a group of men sat in the carriage, she was approached by one of them who touched her inappropriately.

"The men left the service when it arrived at Truro station."

The 30-year-old victim was on board the 7.10pm Penzance to Exeter St Davids service when the incident took place.
