MORE than 200 people turned out in Paul to watch the traditional meeting of the hunt on Monday.

Villagers including Mousehole schoolchildren watched 25 riders of the Western Hunt gather in the village before receiving the stirrup cup from the landlady of the King's Arms, Morvah Stubbing.

The riders then headed towards St Buryan where they continued to ride into the afternoon.

Joint master Rachel Semmens said: "All the village got involved, it was lovely to see the schoolchildren out. We would like to thank the King's Arms for preparing lovely food."

The week-long feast celebrations also included a church and civic service with a performance from Mousehole Male Voice Choir, school sports, Anna Murphy and friends in the church hall, a euchre drive and a quiz.
