ST JUST have strengthened their squad by signing Australian all-rounder Harry Medhurst as their overseas player for the forthcoming 2014 Jolly's Drinks ECB Cornwall Premier League campaign.
Medhurst, who turned 23 last weekend, plays for Weston Creek Molonglo Cricket Club in the Cricket ACT Grade Competition. He has represented ACT through the age-groups and also featured for the Comets in the Futures League (State 2nd XI) competition.
An aggressive fast bowler, Medhurst has been clocked at 135kmh, is a dynamic fielder and explosive middle-order batsman.
He has been one of the leading run-scorers in ACT Grade Cricket in recent years, finishing second on the run-charts in 2012/13 (623 runs at 28.94) and currently has 316 runs including a century (114) averaging 35.11 this summer.
The signing is quite a coup for St Just who have already secured the services of former Cornwall all-rounder Justin Stephens as their professional as they look to mount a strong challenge to win their first Premier Division title since 2009.
