2pm – St Hilary Gardening Club in the old school room; guest Tracey Wilson from Radio Cornwall on plants for small gardens.

2pm – Penzance Memory Café meets at Committee room No 1, the One Stop Shop, St Clare, Penzance (second and fourth Thursdays of every month).

7pm – A sustainable Penzance? Talk on sustainable towns with a special focus on Penzance, at the Queen's Hotel, Penzance, from Mike Jenks, co-founder of the Oxford Institute of Sustainable Development.

7pm – Land's End astronomers invite you to meet the constellations, followed by observing outside – Marazion Community Centre car park (weather permitting).

7pm – Café Polyglot, the club for people who love foreign languages, at the Bath Inn, Cornwall Terrace, Penzance.

7.30pm – St Erth Gardening Club AGM, Methodist Hall, St Erth, followed by John Price's Japan, Sakuri, Tsubaki & Samurai.

6pm – IMS memorial concert, Paul church: music by Britten, Beethoven, and Brahms.

6.30pm - St Buryan Cricket Club fundraising meal at Community House, St Buryan.

7pm – Penzance Choral Society's first rehearsal for Elgar's Dream Of Gerontius at Humphry Davy School, Penzance.

6pm – Penwith Film Society presents Ginger and Rosa: Royal Cinema, St Ives.

6.30pm – Penwith Access and Rights of Way (PAROW) meeting in Committee Room 1, St Clare; rights of way and historic sites.

7.30pm – Connor Downs Gardening Club at Connor Downs WI Hall; Raymond Yarwood will talk on developing an edible landscape.

7.30pm – Peninsula Garden Society at the Lamorna Village Hall for a talk on growing vegetables by Bill Herring of Duchy College, Rosewarne.
