9.30am - 'Love St Just Library' day: take out as many books as possible to show support.

7pm - Cinema Club at St Just Wesley Methodist Chapel: Jack The Giant Slayer (Cert 12).

7pm - Film and Pudding evening in the Murley Hall, Ludgvan: 'Life Of Pi'.

7pm - Hanif Khan on tabla and Viram Jasani on sitar and harmonium at St Ives Arts Club.

7.45pm - Poetry Prom at The Centre, Newlyn.

9pm - Trio live at the Fire Engine Inn, Marazion.


10am - Guided wildlife walk on Cornwall Wildlife Trust's new Bostraze Nature Reserve; book on 01872 273939 (ext 209).

10am - St David's Day coffee morning with Perranuthnoe and District WI for Marie Curie Cancer Care's Daffodil Appeal, at the Crown Inn, Goldsithney.

10am - Jumble Sale at Phillack Church Hall, Hayle, run by Hayle Macmillan Cancer Support Fundraising Committee.

10am - Coffee morning and paper bank at Balwest, Ashton.

12 noon - 'Hands Around The Library' event in support of St Just library.

2pm - St Ives St Piran's Parade starts at the Guildhall; wear black and white and bring a St Piran's flag.

8pm - Launch party at Rosudgeon Social Club celebrating the club's handover to Matt Rowe.

8pm - Pendeen Rovers AFC's Race Night at the Radjel Inn, Pendeen.


4pm - Messy Church: fun, craft and food for children (accompanied by an adult) at Salvation Army, Queen Street, Penzance.


7.30pm - St Buryan Old Cornwall Society meets at St Buryan Village Hall; speaker Roger Bicknall on the history of the Royal Mail in Cornwall.

7.30pm - Ludgvan Horticultural Society meets in the Murley Hall, Ludgvan; speaker Jeff Rowe on 'Growing on the Edge'.


11am - Pancakes at St Aubyn Arms, Praze-an-Beeble, in aid of Crowan Church; raffle and bring-and-buy.

12 noon - Pancakes and hot drinks in Landithy Hall, Madron.

12.30pm - Pancake Lunch at Phillack Church Hall; £1 for pancake and cuppa.

3pm - Pancake Pandemonium at the Wesley Methodist Church Hall, St Just.

6pm - Shrove Tuesday pancakes in the Murley Hall, Ludgvan, hosted by Rev Nigel Marns. Talk on 'The Persecuted Church in Syria'.

7pm - Pasty, Pancakes and Quiz at St Anta, Carbis Bay.

7.30pm - Gift service evening celebrating St Piran's Feast with the Richmond Singers at Goldsithney Methodist Church.

7.30pm - Whist drive at the Royal Standard, Churchtown, Gwinear.

7.30pm - Penzance Floral Club meets at the Queen's Hotel, Penzance; demonstrator Sue Saddington on 'Feeling Potty'.

8pm - Maciek Pysz Trio at St Ives Jazz Club in the Western Hotel, Royal Square.


10.15am - St Piran's Parade starts at the top of Causewayhead, led by the Golowan Band.

2pm - Land's End and District U3A Social at the Methodist Church Hall, Chapel Road, St Just; Val Peacock will be talking about her time working for Freddie Laker's airline.

3.15pm - Traditional St Piran's Day celebrations in St Buryan Village Hall.

5.45pm - St Piran's Day procession leaves Marazion Town Hall to progress to the Gwelva for the ceremony.
