EXETER Chiefs forward Tom Cowan-Dickie says he is looking forward to tackling the demands of the RFU Championship again this season after it was confirmed he will be joining Plymouth Albion on dual-registered terms.

The 21-year-old hooker, from Penzance, has spent the past two seasons on similar terms with the Cornish Pirates, making 15 appearances and scoring two tries for the club.

Now, though, he is set to follow Exeter club-mates Jack Arnott, Lloyd Fairbrother, Henry Slade and younger brother Luke, all of whom confirmed their moves to the Brickfields earlier this month.

He said: "I'm looking forward to it and hopefully it will be a good move for me.

"Having spent the past two years down at the Pirates I know what it's like to be around a Championship club and what will be expected of me.

"Although I didn't play as much as I would have liked at the Pirates, the experience was really good for me as I learnt a lot from the coaches and people like Dave Ward and Rob Elloway."

As well as getting game time in the Championship, Cowan-Dickie was part of Exeter's title-winning Aviva Premiership A League squad, which defeated Harlequins in the final at Sandy Park in April.

THREE St Just rugby players have competed in Japan for Truro College against other school rugby teams from across the world.

Tom Hendrickson, Max Bodilly and Neil Stanleick, all 17, represented the college in the Sanix World Youth Tournament where they got to the final, eventually losing to Kelston Boys' High School, from New Zealand, 37-24.

Max, who plays scrum half, said: "It was a great experience, something that none of us have ever dealt with before.

"It was quite nervy but just a good experience. It was much more competitive than our college league and different game play because of the weather."

THE annual general meeting of Penzance and Newlyn RFC will take place at Westholme on Thursday July 26 at 7.30pm.

This meeting is only open to fully paid-up club members.

Nominations are required for the following honorary positions on the management committee: chairman, treasurer and committee members.

All nominations must be proposed and seconded by a paid-up club member and received by the club administrator no later than Wednesday July 18.

Nomination forms have been affixed to the notice board in the club or may be obtained from the administrator, whose office is on the first floor.

Proxy voting may take place if a vote for any of the above positions is necessary. These forms should be obtained from the administrator and must be returned to him completed, 48 hours before the meeting.
