A RETIREMENT and sheltered housing block in Penzance suffered flooding after a boiler pipe burst.
Penzance firefighters were called to Cherry Gardens in New Street at around 6pm on Monday to find three rooms sodden and water going down the lift shaft.
They managed to turn off the water supply.
"Three flats flooded, but it was minimal; the main flooding was the lounge, kitchen and hallway," said a spokesman. "Some carpets were ruined."
The flats are run by Devon and Cornwall Housing.
