TIMELESS tales of a princess, hero and obligatory wicked fairy will be played out in Penzance next month.

Redruth Amateur Musical and Pantomime Society is busily rehearsing for its take on Sleeping Beauty, which is due to take to the stage at St John's Hall.

This will be the third pantomime performed by the group, who promise a show full of song, dance and comedy.

Playing the role of Prince Braveheart is Lisa Topsey, also a member of the Penzance Amateur Operatic Society. Hayle-based Chris Williams plays the comic role of Chip, the palace odd job man.

Sleeping Beauty will be performed nightly at 7.30pm from January 16 to 20 with matinees on Saturday, January 19 at 2.15pm and the following day at 3pm. Tickets start at £8 and are available from Penwith Music Shop, Union Street, Penzance.
