Online craze slammed

ONLINE drinking craze 'Neknominate' has been slammed by Cornish health experts and police after the global trend hit the county. The craze sees people being filmed drinking alcohol, mostly spirits, often mixed with a variety of other liquids including eggs, urine and dishwater. The video is then posted on social media sites and the individual nominates their friends to do the same. On Sunday a video posted by a man originally from Liskeard saying: "Thanks but no thanks" to his nomination went viral. In just over 24 hours the video, posted by Ashley Abernethie, who now lives in Plymouth, received just under 45,000 likes.

Oh JosDave such an over reaction. I've watched a dozen of these from people in Cornwall and all were harmless. One added Roddas clotted cream to his pint of Scrumpy and another a pint of larger with a raw egg in it. The first bloke was wearing a tutu and a massive feather tiara who started his video by jokingly wresting an ostrich (that was his). Yes the drinks may be revolting and they are usually dressed questionably but It is harmless fun until someone does something dangerous and stupid. Social media just makes it more likely for you to see it. Ban Idiots, not fun.

These idiots should be arrested if caught engaging in this stupid and dangerous pastime and their so-called social media should refuse to show or if posted remove the videos from their sites. Sooner or later, and I suspect, this is going to result in fatalities. Only then will these morons wake up if it is not too late.
