NANCEALVERNE School has a new head – Sarah Moseley. She has arrived in Penzance after a spell as deputy head at a similar, all-age special school in Jersey.

Sarah has more than 20 years' experience as a practitioner, including both mainstream and special needs classrooms, nationally and internationally.

During this time, she has completed a master's degree and doctorate focusing on maximising the educational opportunities for pupils with special educational needs.

Sarah said: "I am committed to removing barriers to achievement for all pupils, and providing access to the best educational experiences and opportunities.

"I am excited by the opportunities presented for our pupils by being a member of the Penwith Education Trust.

"Ultimately, I hope to lead the school in securing an outstanding provision for our pupils."

Sarah added that she looked forward to exploring Cornwall and remembers many happy holidays in the county as a child.
