CHAMPIONS Illogan RBL moved to the top of the Combination League table for the first time this season after previous leaders St Day slipped to their second defeat in three league matches at Wendron on Saturday.
Leading 2-0 and seemingly in cruise control thanks to strikes from Gavin Boon and Chris Tolley, the visitors were left stunned when Jason Roberts struck a hat-trick to fire his side back into the title race.
A brace from Matt Roberts and the help of two own goals allowed Illogan to overtake their title rivals with a comfortable 4-0 win over Troon, although there are sure to be many twist and turns yet to come at the top of the table, with Ludgvan sitting in third spot after their convincing 6-1 win at Perranwell.
Gary Matthews, Tom Patrick, Jamie Devine, Ross Badcock, Mark Richards and Gerens James were all on target to cancel out Matt Read's strike, and only three points now separate the top three.
Redruth United remain level on points with Wendron in fourth as they thumped Penryn Athletic 7-3 to continue their impressive debut season in the Combination League.
Dean Keating and Ben Beesley notched a brace each, while Dan McInerney, Moha Imichichi and Morow Sanneh added to the visitors' misery, who replied through Ross Symons and Ryan Reeve.
St Ives Town and St Just remain just behind the leading pack as they played out a 2-2 draw at The Saltings.
Ross Duncan's double put the hosts two up before the battling Tinners got themselves back in the game through Stuart Nicholls and Graham Stirr.
Goonhavern moved above Troon and off the bottom of the table after beating fellow strugglers Porthleven despite having a player sent off. Marc Wilson's goal was enough to seal his side's second win of the season, while keeping their first clean sheet in the process.
Goals from Lee Cattran, Rob Carey, Alan Thomas and Dan Jenkin helped Mullion to a comfortable 4-0 victory over RNAS Culdrose, while Hayle and St Agnes couldn't be separated, drawing two apiece at Trevassack Park.
Nick Perry put the visitors ahead before Matt Harris' double turned the game on its head.
However, the hosts were denied their second successive victory when James Salisbury popped up late on to secure a point for Martyn Kimmins' side.
