THE DEVASTED owners of a missing family dog have asked people to "help bring him home for Christmas" after a number of sightings of Jay the border collie in West Penwith.

The black and tan-coloured collie-cross went missing from a holiday cottage near Sancreed in October.

Owner Maddy Reid, from Hertfordshire, is offering a £100 reward for his safe return.

Despite Jay, who is nearly three, being missing now for two months, Maddy is convinced he is still alive, following a number of sightings between St Buryan, Lamorna and the Merry Maidens.

Reports suggest Jay, usually a very friendly dog, has been reported as shivering and looking very sorry for himself in the fields south of St Buryan.

Angela Farrell, a local Doglost volunteer, said: "After two months, he is still missing but has been sighted many times. He is now believed to be hiding in the fields in the lower part of Boskenna Lane. He has been sighted at both Boskenna Farm and Boskenna Home Farm nearby."

Jay has taken food left out for him by locals and also been seen taking food from bird tables.

Angela said: "We are offering a £100 reward for anyone who can either get hold of him and secure."

Anyone with information should phone Maddy on 01707 267757 or 07974 006903, or alternatively, you can contact her partner John on 01707 325762.
