WEST Cornwall Golf Club Junior Harry Hall achieved another milestone in his blossoming golf career when he helped England beat Wales in their annual U16 international at Llanwern, near Newport .
The match consisted of four foursomes followed by singles. Harry and his partner won their foursomes as England took a 3-1 lunchtime lead into the afternoon.
The English team continued strongly with Harry playing in the last match to finish.
He shot consecutive birdies to go four under gross and find himself three up on the 14th.
However, his opponent showed his own scratch golfing ability by fighting back to be level on the 18th tee. Having to hit the 18th green to match his opponent, Harry found a bunker.
However he blasted out, leaving himself a 40 foot putt from just off the green. Much to the delight of his team mates and in front of both squads and spectators Harry holed the putt.
England were jubilant and with his opponent also making three their match was halved.
The overall result was England 9 Wales 3.
He is now hoping to be selected for further matches against both Scotland and Ireland after playing a starring role for his country.
