THE footpath across Newlyn Green is impassable after a huge hole appeared.

The hole, initially about 6ft long, was first seen on Monday morning.

But after another high tide in the evening, the hole got deeper and longer and had enlarged to around 20ft long and up to 10ft deep by Tuesday afternoon but in the evening further damage was done and part of the footpath has now been completely washed away.

The area has been barricaded off so that members of the public are not in danger.
