FIGHTSPORT Promotions have announced their latest upcoming event, 'Clash of the Titans' which takes place at Carn Brea Leisure Centre on Sunday.
The thai/kickboxing promotion has been a huge favourite among Cornish fight fans since its first event back in 2005 and is especially renowned for its great even matchmaking, exciting bouts and overall entertainment effort and value.
'Clash of the Titans' will feature two shows for one ticket price, starting with a six bout show dedicated to the development of the junior thai fighters who will compete under the new Touchgloves/GEMS project banner which has dedicated a muaythai school of excellence to its already outstanding curriculum at Bolitho School in Penzance.
The programme and first of its kind in Britain will be run by the Touchgloves team Nathan and Julie Kitchen.
Amber Kitchen will headline the show in a huge anticipated junior bout against a fighter, who due to lack of support and funding in Cornwall for Amber and the rest of the junior team, has taken Amber's place on the UKMF British team despite Amber winning gold for the team at the IFMA games in Turkey in December.
Also competing on the card for Touchgloves is Tommy Green from Padstow, who takes on Liverpool's Nazeem Powell for his second British Championship.
Bethany Bodilly, Rosie Davis and Ollie Savage will also face well matched opponents at the event.
Julie said: "The junior talent in this county needs to seen and recognised, I strongly recommend spectators to put a couple of hours aside and take advantage of this free spectacular opportunity.
"These children dedicate to at least five training sessions per week and this will be evident in their performances against juniors already on the national circuit."
The adult event is scheduled to start at 1.30pm and will feature competitors from Touchgloves, WAKT Camborne, S08 Falmouth, Koncept Newquay, who will join forces as a Cornish team to take on Devon rivals from Planet Combat Paignton, Chaos Gym Oakhampton, Taurus MMA Plymouth and Highlanders Kickboxing Chippenham.
Other established teams from Woking, Swansea, Hastings and Liverpool will attempt to overthrow the Cornish fighters in full contact action including boxing, kicking, knee and elbow techniques.
Fighters from Camborne include Jimmy Regan, Pete Thomas, Jake Lawry and Rachel Stephens. Falmouth competitors include Ryan Mann, Dan Tanner, Joby Plant and Martin McCrath while Newquay's Marius Daublys, Charlie Roony and Callum Mason all compete for the county.
Touchgloves Gym also have a strong representation with Toni Hollow, Aneka Keary, Dean McCauley, Claire Walkey, Vikki Church, Klaives Skrundieneks, Peter Lapuc, Barrie Prowse, Matt Harding, Dan Bradford and Jake Hartley.
