CHILDREN at Busy Bees Daycare in St Buryan had a lantern-lit festive walk last week.
Over the past two Saturdays the nursery's youngsters had been busily making paper lanterns to take around the village while looking at the Christmas lights on show.
The event saw parents join children and staff at Busy Bees on Thursday night, as the group toured around St Buryan before having some festive treats, mulled wine and lemonade.
Deputy manager, Helen Kendall, said it was a lovely evening.
"Luckily the weather held off," she said. "We had a fantastic turnout, more people than we expected.
"We all had a look around the lights and the children really enjoyed seeing them. We lit the lanterns and the parents were really impressed with what the children had made."
Miss Kendall added that before viewing some of the sparkling decorations the group spent time by the village Christmas tree for a sing-song.
"We had a couple of carols," she said. "The children were a bit cold but they had a lovely time. They were really excited and happy and joined in with the songs.
"Everyone felt very festive, it was a nice atmosphere."
On Friday, before breaking up for the Christmas holidays, children had a day making Danish stars, wreaths and enjoyed some chocolate and of course, more mince pies.
