POLICE have reported a triple champagne theft in Newlyn just as festive celebrations began.

The incident, which took place earlier this month in the run-up to Christmas, saw a bottle of Moet, a Lanson Black Label and a Co-op own brand bubbly stolen from a property in Treveneth Crescent.

Police said the offence took place between 8.30am and 8pm on December 19 and are appealing for information.

A report read: "Offender(s) entered the premises climbing in through a rear bedroom window. Once inside bedrooms were searched untidily and cash and property was stolen."

Police added that if anyone is aware of champagne being offered for sale, they are asked to contact Detective Constable Martin Hearn at Penzance station on 101 or through Crimestoppers 0800 555111, quoting crime reference AP/13/3151.
