Braving the cold for a Christmas Eve swim in Penzance

Brave swimmers plunged into Penzance harbour on Christmas Eve for a festive dip. Organiser Tina Riggall said around 20 people took part in the swim, and added they "were in for about 10 minutes" before going to the pub to warm up. They jumped in at midday and Miss Riggall described the cold temperatures as "very refreshing". "It went really well actually," she said. "It was good – a lot of people came along." Miss Riggall said it was a great way to wake up for Christmas, and said it got her ready for the oncoming celebrations. She said: "It was a good dip – people enjoyed it."
