A MAN working on the harbourside project at Hayle pleaded guilty to drink-driving at Truro Magistrates' Court.

Jonathan Hunt registered alcohol in his breath at more than twice the legal limit when police spotted him.

The 42-year-old, who goes home at the weekends to an address in Taunton, admitted the offence at Leedstown on October 23 when he registered 75mcg alcohol– the limit is 35.

Alison May, for the Crown Prosecution Service, said police officers spoke to Hunt after seeing him drive at 20mph on a main road, veering across the carriageway, causing another vehicle to take evading action.

He had a previous similar conviction in 2006.

Hunt was told to do 150 hours of unpaid work and was banned from driving for three years.
