EXPERT Mark Pearson will give a talk on the dilemmas facing architects building in a town like St Ives as part of a series of talks linked to the new Neighbourhood Plan.
The talk – one of the St Ives Trust Talks – will be given on Tuesday at Porthmeor Studios, Back Road West, St Ives.
Old And New, Places And Pursuit Of Good Quality will illustrate, with examples from other towns, how established settlements can move forward.
Mark is the independent chairman of the Cornwall Design Review Panel. He has been a senior lecturer at the University of Plymouth; the director of the Architecture Centre, Bristol; and worked on behalf of the Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment across Devon and Cornwall.
The talks are part of the drive for a new plan, generated by the people of St Ives, for how the town will develop and for rules on how development can be undertaken. Each talk begins at 7pm and is free to attend.
